Plot / Storyline: It's gonna be a "Wicked" new season! Stephen Schwartz, the composer of such Broadway gems as Godspell and Pippin (and such movie musicals as Prince of Egypt and Pocahontas) brings his new show to Broadway this fall. . WICKED tells the story of two girls in the Land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years. Wicked will star Tony Award-winner KRISTIN CHENOWETH (ABC-TV's recent 'The Music Man'), Tony nominee IDINA MENZEL (the original Maureen in 'Rent') and legendary two-time Tony Award-winner ROBERT MORSE ('How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' and 'Tru'). The show will be directed by JOE MANTELLO, recent Tony-winner for Take Me Out. Performances start October 7, Gershwin Theatre.
